Dr. Ahmad Jazzar has over 23 years of experience in Gastroenterology (esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, pancreas, and liver diseases) and interventional endoscopy, which includes upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), small bowel enterostomy, video capsule endoscopy, esophageal manometry. In 1987, he graduated from Aleppo University’s Faculty of Medicine. Dr. Jazzar completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States of America. He has held a variety of positions, including Consultant Gastroenterologist at Digestive Disease Specialists of Oklahoma, Integris Liver Transplantation Hepatologist at Oklahoma Transplantation Institute in the United States of America, Assistant Professor at Aleppo University’s Faculty of Medicine, Consultant Physician and Chief of the Gastroenterology Division at Gulf Diagnostic Center Hospital, and most recently Chief of the Gastroenterology Division at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi. Dr. Jazzar is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology (FACG), a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), a Member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), and a Member of the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) (UNOS). Dr. Jazzar has delivered over 100 presentations and authored over 30 publications on a variety of topics, including colorectal polyps, viral hepatitis B and C therapy, inflammatory bowel diseases (as a member of the committee that wrote and published the first UAE consensus statement on IBD therapy in the UAE), NASH burden and treatment in the Gulf countries, and diagnosis and treatment of iron deficiency.
